Welcome to Flowers and the Word.

We’re an online florist based in Ipswich, Queensland, creating fresh floral arrangements.

These Terms & Conditions explain how our website and online store operate. By using our website or placing an order with us, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. About Us

Flowers and the Word is an online florist based in Ipswich, Queensland.

We create fresh floral arrangements for a range of occasions and provide customers with the option to include a complimentary faith keepsake with eligible orders.

Our website is powered by Shopify.

2. Placing an Order

When placing an order, you agree that:

the information you provide is accurate and complete;
you are authorised to use the payment method provided;
you understand and accept these Terms & Conditions, privacy policy, shipping policy and refund policy.

Once an order has been placed, you’ll receive an order confirmation by email.

Orders are only accepted once payment has been successfully processed.

3. Prices

All prices displayed on our website are shown in Australian Dollars (AUD).

Prices may change from time to time. Any price changes will apply to future orders and will not affect orders that have already been accepted and paid for.

Delivery charges are calculated separately and displayed during checkout.

4. Payments

Payments are securely processed through Shopify Payments.

Flowers and the Word does not store your full payment card details.

5. Fresh Flowers

Flowers are a natural product.

Because flowers are seasonal and availability changes regularly, some flowers or colours shown in product photographs may occasionally need to be substituted.

Where a minor substitution is required, we may use a flower or product of equal or greater value while maintaining the advertised style, size and colour palette. If a substitution would materially change the arrangement or replace a defining flower or product, we will contact the customer for approval. If an acceptable substitution cannot be agreed upon, the customer may receive a refund for the unavailable item.

6. Complimentary Faith Keepsakes

Eligible orders may include one complimentary faith keepsake, consisting of a Bible, bookmark and scripture card chosen by the florist. A minimum product spend of $20 AUD applies. Maximum one complimentary faith keepsake per order, subject to availability.

Flowers and the Word is not responsible for how a recipient chooses to use, interpret or handle a faith-based or religious item after delivery.

While we always strive to include every little extra with love, there may be times when certain items are unavailable and may need to be substituted. Please know that we will always do our very best to make your order just as special.

7. Delivery

We currently deliver throughout Ipswich and some surrounding suburbs.

Delivery timeframes are estimates only and may occasionally be affected by factors outside our control, including traffic, weather, road conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

If the recipient is unavailable, we may leave the flowers in a safe location where appropriate, attempt to contact the recipient, or contact the purchaser for further instructions.

8. Same-Day Delivery

Same-day delivery is available Monday to Saturday, subject to our delivery cut-off times, product availability and delivery capacity.

We offer same-day delivery for orders placed before the following cut-off times:

Monday – Friday: order by 9am — deliveries run between 11am and 4pm

Saturday: order by 9am — deliveries run between 11am and 3pm

We are unable to guarantee exact delivery times.

We reserve the right to decline same-day delivery requests that cannot reasonably be fulfilled.

9. Cancellations and Changes

If you need to change or cancel your order, please contact us as soon as possible.

Once flowers have been prepared or dispatched, changes or cancellations may not be possible.

10. Refunds

Fresh flowers are perishable products.

Refunds, replacements or other remedies are provided in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.

11. Website Information

We do our best to ensure that all information on our website is accurate.

However, occasional errors relating to pricing, descriptions, photographs or availability may occur.

If an error is identified, we reserve the right to correct it and, where appropriate, contact you before proceeding with your order.

12. Customer Arrangement Photography

Flowers and the Word may photograph floral arrangements we create and use these photographs on our website, social media and other promotional materials.

We will not intentionally publish customer or recipient names, addresses, contact details, personal messages or identifiable images of individuals without appropriate permission.

13. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, all content on this website, including text, photographs, branding, logos and graphics, is owned by or licensed to Flowers and the Word.

You may not reproduce or use our content without our prior written permission.

14. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us.

Please refer to our Privacy Policy to learn how we collect, use and protect your personal information.

15. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any rights or remedies you may have under Australian Consumer Law.

Where our goods or services come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded by law, you are entitled to those rights.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Updated Terms & Conditions will apply to future orders from the date they are published on our website and will not retrospectively change the terms applying to orders already accepted.

17. A Flower from the Word —

A Flower from the Word is a free service available to people. Delivery is available to addresses within Ipswich, Queensland. A maximum of one request per person (person placing the order) is permitted in any 1-month period. Submitting a request does not guarantee acceptance or delivery. Flowers and the Word may decline or cancel a request where:

location requirements are not met;
materially false or misleading information is provided;
the service is being misused or the request is inconsistent with its stated purpose; or
Flowers and the Word reasonably considers that delivery cannot be completed safely.

If a request is declined or cancelled, the products in this service will not be delivered.

18. Customer Reviews

Customer reviews must reflect the reviewer’s genuine experience with the relevant product or service. Reviews must not be fake, misleading, unlawful, abusive, defamatory, unrelated to the product or service, or contain confidential or unnecessary personal information.

Customers must not upload photographs or videos that they do not own or have permission to use. Photographs or videos showing another identifiable person should only be submitted with that person’s permission.

The reviewer retains ownership of their review and submitted media. By submitting content, the reviewer grants Flowers and the Word a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce and display that content on our website and through Judge.me and connected review or sales channels for the purpose of operating and promoting our store.

We may reject, hide or remove content where we reasonably believe it is fake, misleading, spam, unlawful, defamatory, infringes another person’s rights, contains private information or otherwise breaches these Terms. We will not hide or remove a genuine review merely because it is negative.

If Flowers and the Word offers an incentive for submitting a review, the incentive will not depend on whether the review is positive or negative. Any incentivised review will be clearly identified where required.
